Editorial Structure

Overview

The academic strength and reputation of the Journal of Emerging Health Sciences (JEHS) are built upon a structured and experienced editorial team. Each editorial role is carefully defined to ensure transparency, efficiency, and adherence to international scholarly standards, collectively supporting the journal’s aims and multidisciplinary scope.

Chief Editor

The Chief Editor is the principal authority responsible for the academic leadership and editorial integrity of JEHS. Core responsibilities include:

  1. Defining the journal’s vision, scope, and priorities;
  2. Developing editorial strategy in coordination with the publisher and affiliated bodies;
  3. Evaluating submissions and issuing final publication decisions;
  4. Overseeing the peer-review process and publication timelines;
  5. Approving scholarly content and responding to author queries;
  6. Recommending editorial board appointments;
  7. Exploring advertising and funding opportunities for special or supplement issues;
  8. Acting as the official representative of JEHS at academic and professional events.

Editors

Editors support the Chief Editor in managing content quality and editorial decisions and may act with delegated authority. Their responsibilities include:

  1. Reviewing manuscripts and recommending decisions;
  2. Managing peer review;
  3. Approving accepted manuscripts;
  4. Addressing submission-related correspondence;
  5. Proposing new editorial board members;
  6. Identifying funding opportunities for themed issues;
  7. Representing JEHS at conferences and scholarly meetings.
  8. JEHS may appoint Section or Specialty Editors to oversee discipline-specific content under the same terms.

Managing Editor

The Managing Editor supervises operational workflows and ensures that editorial activities are executed efficiently and on schedule. Key duties include:

  1. Coordinating communication across the editorial team;
  2. Monitoring and enforcing publication timelines;
  3. Improving editorial processes to maintain quality standards;
  4. Implementing editorial policies and procedures;
  5. Assisting editors in operational decision-making;
  6. Reviewing performance indicators and suggesting improvements.

Section Editors

Section Editors manage manuscripts within their areas of expertise, coordinate peer review, communicate with reviewers and authors, ensure ethical compliance, and provide recommendations to maintain academic excellence.

Editorial Board

The Editorial Board comprises subject experts who support the editorial leadership and journal development. Responsibilities include:

  1. Advising editors on manuscript decisions;
  2. Contributing to journal policy, scope, and strategic planning;
  3. Promoting JEHS within academic networks;
  4. Encouraging high-quality submissions across disciplines;
  5. Identifying funding sources for special or supplement issues.

Advisory Board

The Advisory Board consists of national and international experts who provide strategic guidance. Key roles include:

  • Advising on initiatives to enhance journal visibility;
  • Supporting inclusion in international indexing platforms;
  • Recommending strategies to attract global authors and readers;
  • Ensuring high academic and ethical standards;
  • Identifying emerging trends relevant to health sciences.

Term & Renewal

Editorial appointments are for a 2-year term and may be renewed following performance evaluation by the Chief Editor.

Editorial Board Meetings

Editorial Board meetings will be held periodically, either online or in person, to review performance and plan future developments. Meeting frequency will be determined according to journal needs.
